Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs were awarded two Corporate Philanthropy Awards given by the St. Louis Business Journal on Thursday, April 11th.  The two categories won were for Small Company and Highest Cash Giving as a Percentage of Revenue.

Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs has been named a 2024 finalist in the St. Louis Business Journal's Annual Corporate Philanthropy Award.

Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs LLC, with 54 total employees, contributed $500,000 in cash and in-kind giving to local organizations last year. These organizations included Step It Up, Operation Food Search, Jennings School District and SIU Carbondale.

Congratulations to Dave Nester on the Jury's Verdict in the case of Thomas v. Esta, tried in Jefferson County, Missouri the week of August 7, 2023.  The counsel for Plaintiff asked the Jury for $3,720,000.00 for the Plaintiff's traumatic brain injury.  The Defendant admitted negligence.  The Jury returned a verdict for the Defendant.

Beth Boggs was awarded the Ronda F. Williams Community Awareness Award by The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. Her outstanding commitment to the community was recognized in the August issue of St. Louis Lawyer magazine, and the award was presented at Law Day 2021 on September 9th.

Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs was recently recognized by Legal Services Support Group for its commitment to their mission. 

Congratulations to Beth C. Boggs and Mark A. Grilliot for the favorable verdict in the case of Caroline Vemulapalli v. Target Corporation. Ms. Vemulapalli demanded a seven-figure settlement because a Target sign holder struck her toe. The net verdict, after Plaintiff was found 97% at fault, was $4,500.

Lutricia Cummings, et al.  Judgment was entered on March 13th in Clay County, Missouri.  The issue was coverage for property damage under a renter's policy issued by the plaintiff, carrier.

Congratulations to David Nester on the Jury's Verdict in the case of Helton v. Haynes, tried in Greene County, Missouri, the week of May 13th.  The counsel for the plaintiff had demanded $3,500,000 and sought punitive damages.  The jury awarded $10,000 in damages.

The firm would like to thank BAMSL and USA&M for their generous donations for our Easter families.  We will be feeding 29 families in East St. Louis this Easter and will be adding baskets for all of the kids, due to the very generous support we have received.

Beth Boggs spoke on December 19th regarding Juror Selection.

 The St. Louis Business Journal has named the firm a finalist for its Corporate Philanthrophy Awards.

 Beth and Darin Boggs were selected to serve on the Board of Visitors for Southern Illinois University School of Law.

 The firm golf tournament was held at the Orchards in October.  Great weather, fantastic turnout, great food and relatively fast play.  The next tournament will be for the Clemens Scholarship.

Butchko pending in St. Louis County, Missouri.  Judge Draper agreed with the arguments of counsel that the trustee defendants did not owe a duty to a homeowner who claimed to be aggrieved by the acts of another homeowner in constructing a pool.

Congratulations to Beth C. Boggs on obtaining summary judgment in favor of Hartman Walsh Painting Company, in the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota on an alleged exposure to MEK.  Summary judgment was granted on the basis of circuity of obligation.
